Composer, sound designer, musician and author, Andrea Gianessi is dedicated to experimenting with the dramaturgical potential of sound, with a particular focus on the interaction between concrete, electronic and acoustic music. Founder of tsd - theatre of disobedient servants, together with director Federica Amatuccio, and member of the board of directors of DAS - Device for Experimental Arts in Bologna. He creates music and sound design for the theatre, collaborating over the years with artists such as Antonio Latella, Giuseppe Stellato, Franco Visioli, Stabilemobile, Silvia Rigon, Fabio Condemi, Jacopo Squizzato, Michela Lucenti - Balletto Civile, Fanny&Alexander, Menoventi, Mitmacher Teatro, Zoopalco, Ateliersi, Andrea Centazzo, Masque Teatro. His works are staged in contexts such as ERT - Emilia Romagna Teatro, Teatro di Roma, Teatro Stabile di Torino, TPE - Teatro Piemonte Europa, CSS Teatro stabile di innovazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Campania Teatro Festival, Festival delle Colline Torinesi, Kilowatt Sansepolcro, Cantiere Poetico Santarcangelo, Ravenna Festival, OperaEstate, Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna, La Biennale Teatro di Venezia.
He released two albums as a songwriter, "l'Alternativa" and "La Via della Seta", for the Reincanto Dischi label. He co-founded with Antonello Cresti the Nihil Project collective, releasing four albums and collaborating with many international musicians.
